Raw cassava root starch was transformed into ethanol in a one-step process of fermentation, in which are combined the conventional processes of liquefaction, saccharification, and fermentation to alcohol. The application of low-temperature cooking to cassava starch followed by a dual enzyme action resulted in an ethanol yield comparable to that of a traditional high-temperature cooking process. Pressurized distillation gave a satisfactory recovery efficiency of ethanol but was slightly lower than that obtained from atmospheric pressure distillation. Over 40% of the normal steam consumption was saved by adopting the low-temperature cooking and pressurized distillation systems in the cassava-to-ethanol process. The yield of anhydrous ethanol varied with the starch content in fresh cassava roots and was in the range of 185 to 200 liters per tonne.
When designed air flow drying system, we fully considered each factor of turbulent flow,cyclone separating and heat exchange etc., so that each collocation and parameter have definite theory basis, such as heat exchange's collocation , temperature control of inlet air and outlet air,diameter change of cyclone pipe etc. Through measuring on feeding material moisture,or temperature difference between inlet and outlet, the feeding quantity and inlet steam volume can be automatic adjusted, thus the water content of product could of product could reach the technology requirement.This kind airflow dryer is not only suitable to all kinds potato kinds starch to be dried,but also adaptable to the drying of corn starch and wheat starch.
